FOCUS ON TODAY

I am learning how to let go. Its not easy.

I have learned that in order for me to be able to move forward. I mean really move forward I have to let go of the past. The hurts and disappointments. The failures and the fears. I have to forgive myself and others and I have to have faith that all will be well, without knowing where I am going or will end up. I have to be able to take some risks and not allow the fear of uncertainty stop me.

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is a mystery.
All I have is TODAY.

Peace and Blessings

  1. Hi Eric. Moving forward is ground gained and victories won. You are growing in many areas in your life obviously. Just to agree with you, and affirm you in a couple of things you mentioned. Forgiving yourself is one of the hardest things to do at times, and that is where many people stumble. Many continue to look at their past, say they have done so many awful things they can never forgive themselves. Seriously, that is one of the main ways that people continue to be pulled down and put themselves down. I know you are not religious, but you are Spiritual, and that is good. I am not religious either, but I have a Spiritual relationship with Jesus Christ, and am a born again Christian. The way I have to look at things I have done, is if God will forgive me, why can’t I forgive myself? It means I am putting myself above God, then there is a problem, so I have to forgive myself, and sin is sin in God’s eyes, He lists them all together.
About forgiving others, as you mentioned. I believe you have written about forgiveness previously. (Of course at my age I may forget the odd thing :). ). If we don’t forgive someone, and hold a grudge for any reason, we are the hurting ones, because the other person may have forgotten the incident and is continuing on in a joy filled life.
Looking forward, in faith, is a great way to go.
Thanks again for all your good writings Eric, I look forward to them always. God’s Blessings.

    • I agree George it took me countless years to be able to forgive myself and I still fall short in some areas. I have beat myself up and down for things that were done and forgotten by everyone but me. I held resentments towards people for nothing at all yet I was still stewing over it. I am grateful that I am making progress in those areas today. I appreciate your feedback, encouragement and support always. Thank you George. Peace and blessings brother.
