Just for today: I know that the more diverse my groups experience is, the better able my group will be to offer me support in the different circumstances I find myself facing. Today, I welcome addicts from all backgrounds to my home group.
Hello and God Bless You.
Do you remember when I said I have 3 resolutions / goals for the new year.
1. Quit Smoking
2. Live Healthier Life Style
3. Find a new job.
Well I have started two of the three. I have been going to the gym for four days a week for almost a month now and that is working out fine. It feels good to workout and relieving some stress. I have to get better with eating healthy though. But at least its a start.
The second one is the smoking. I started wearing the patch Thursday February 2, 2012 and although the cravings come and go I only smoked 2 cigarettes since. I smoked because the craving was really strong and I did not want to start craving other things. I am trying not to do anything that is bad for my health and just like with my recovery I know that this too is a process. I am not going to get discouraged if I smoke 1 or 2 due to stress. I will not buy anymore packs and I will monitor my feelings so I don’t allow my addiction to catch me at a moment of weakness.
I have faith that my higher power will guide me in the direction he wants me to go as far as quitting this habit. I know that God wants what’s best for me and will provide me with the knowledge and the courage on how to go about this. One day at a time.
